Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the FoodIntel mobile application (the "App"), operated by Apsoluts ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What FoodIntel Does

FoodIntel helps you understand packaged food products. It lets you scan barcodes, search products, view nutrition information and health scores, track a food diary, and set personal dietary preferences. Product data is sourced from public food databases such as Open Food Facts and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

2. Not Medical Advice

Important: FoodIntel provides general nutrition information for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Health scores, warnings, daily targets, and dietary suggestions are informational estimates. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your diet, allergies, or medical conditions. Never rely on the App to determine whether a product is safe for a person with allergies or medical conditions — always read the physical product label.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
You may sign in with Google, Apple, or an email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
Each account may be actively signed in on one device at a time. Signing in on a new device signs out the previous one.
You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others or create accounts by automated means.

4. Subscriptions and Free Trial

FoodIntel Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) that unlocks premium features such as trends, product comparison, and family profiles.
Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's store account settings.
A free trial, where offered, is limited to one per account and one per device. Deleting and reinstalling the App does not reset trial eligibility. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Prices may change; changes apply from the next billing period and you will be notified as required by the applicable store.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
Attempt to circumvent trial, subscription, or device limits;
Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the App or its services;
Access or attempt to access other users' accounts or data.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and content (excluding third-party product data), is owned by Apsoluts and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. Product data sourced from Open Food Facts is available under its own open database licence.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Open Food Facts (product data), Apple and Google (sign-in and billing), and RevenueCat (subscription management). We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that product data is accurate or complete, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apsoluts shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, health outcomes, or allergic reactions arising from your use of or reliance on the App. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or abuse the service (including trial abuse). You may stop using the App and delete your account data at any time. Sections 6, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing Law and Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Apsoluts is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated in the App or on this page, and the "Effective date" will be updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
